Upon my departure from India, the Buddhist monks at the World Buddhist Centre provided me with a prayer shawl to wear on my journey and offered wishes for a "happy splended new year." I share these New Year's blessings with those who seek to follow the path of respect, compassion, truth, and non-violence towards all living things--indeed towards the earth herself.
