" . . . There's such a lot of different Annes in me. I sometimes think that is why I'm such a troublesome person. If i was just the one Anne, it would be ever so much more comfortable, but then it wouldn't be half so interesting."
--Anne of Green Gables
"It has always seemed to me. ever since early childhood, amid all the commonplaces of life, I was very near to a kingdom of ideal beauty. Between it and me hung only a thin veil. I could never draw it quite aside, but sometimes a wind fluttered it and I caught a glimpse of the enchanting realms beyond-only a glimpse-but those glimpses have always made life worthwhile."
From within outward: Frank Lloyd Wright, MOMA, Hair, and The Norman Conquests. The latter a triptych: three plays seen throughout the day from different vantage points.
This week happens to be the birthday of many notable figures in my life. Thanks Vinnie, Anna, and Marshall for sharing your birthdays (sequentially) with me. I feel honored to celebrate with you--and with the Dalai Lama! As you will note in a posting below, it's also another momentous occasion in my life: the first birthday of my blog, a true and constant companion over this past year of much rambling.
For further celebration, I'll be going to New York City and then a week in Nova Scotia. Hope to post pictures and notes while on these journeys.
